Argentina Presentation

On Friday last week we presented our information we discovered about Argentina.  We had a great time presenting to the syndicate.  Here is our presentation and a film of us presenting it.

Week 8 - Melbourne Learning

Last week on Tuesday afternoon Miss G and Mrs Tui went to Melbourne in Australia to look at 8 different schools.
They went to Melbourne because they went to find out how our school can be a modern learning environment. 

While Miss G went away for the last 5 days we did some cool activities and cool fitness. Mrs Denny took some of room 3 students to the pool that came with their togs, some of us forgot and some were sick. When we went to the courts the students who went to swimming had a lot of fun because there were no instructors and they had no lessons all they did was play and have free time while Mrs Denny watched them. I was part of the unswimmer group, we played master with the basketball and some played King ball with the tennis ball. 

Today our teacher is back! Miss G told room 3 all about what she did in Melbourne and she said that she visited 8 different schools with 21 teachers. The teachers from different schools were Pt England, Panmure Bridge, Tamaki College, Stonefields, St Patrick's and last St Pius which was Miss G and Mrs Tui.

When Miss G showed us the photos she said "they were like a big huge classroom in their art room" and I was like Wow that is COOL!. One school I liked was the one with the modern neighbourhood learning, they had a Big finger chair and it was colourful full. I was like that is cool and then we finished looking at the photos that Miss G took at Melbourne she said that "She ate lots of food over there" because every time you turn there's a Restaurant". 

Miss G brought us adorable and cute koalas for room three and they were beautiful. She brought them from Melbourne and the Koalas were holding a Boomerang and it was brown.We put it on our Jersey or our shirt and it was cool when it was hanging on us and some students got a koala that was holding a flag and difference colour T-shirt and it says 'I love Australia!'.

Cookie Protector :)

Yesterday afternoon, my partner Joshua and I made a cookie protector. First so we did a box to hide it from the cookie monster. We started with a piece of paper just to draw our ideas. It was A3 paper and 1 cello tape, also 2 metres string and 2 metres straws. They were a bit hard to build up our own boxes. Then we build up the box and we decorate it and we only need to finished up the roof with the colourful straws.

NZ Sign Language Awareness.

This week is NZ Sign Language Awareness week. Today Room 3 learnt to say their name in NZ Sign Language.

The Life Education Van

This week, The Life Education Van came to visit St Pius X Catholic School. Room 3 went to see The Life Education Van and we went on Monday and on Tuesday. We met Lynn and she told us about healthy food.

She wants us to eat healthy food for our body and drink seven cups of water a day.  We also need other things like Exercise, love, sleep and washes. She also told us about the food pyramid.

Lynn told us about where the food goes. It goes inside the mouth  and then it goes to a tube called the Oesophagus.After that, it goes to the stomach. Lastly it goes, to the small intestines where it breaks up into small pieces. The good pieces goes to the blood and the bad pieces goes to the toilet.

Also, Harold told Room 3 that he was standing up top the roof  with his telescope and he saw an alien.

4.In london they have two nickname for the polices,one is bobby and the other is called peelers,the tallest buliding in london is the canary whaft tower and 1,000 years old when the tower of London was built.
5. In London they have 24 span the thames in London,from kew bridge to tower bridge,London is the biggest city in and European,London was the first city in the world to have an underground railway.
